Today, a number of the photographers who are participating in the Capture Your 365 project are taking part in a Blog Hop! When you get to the bottom of my post, you’ll see the list of everyone that is participating, so you can take a stroll through the whole list and see what other people are doing with this project.
In preparation for my post, I spent a goodly portion of my Sunday afternoon getting caught up on sorting out photos and uploading them to various places. I was supposed to be doing taxes, but this is much more fun, as you can well imagine.
It’s a little hard to believe that we have already reached the beginning of April. I’m really proud of myself for keeping up with this project. Credit for that goes to two things: one, is participating in the community at Capture Your 365 — I’m learning a lot from the site, plus it helps to get such great feedback from everyone on my pictures, as well as to see glimpses of other people’s lives. I keep seeing beaches and it makes me jealous…
The other reason for success is the “rules” or lack thereof…that I’ve established for this project.
DO
…try to take a picture every day.
…try to tell a story about my family and our lives with each picture.
…try to learn more about my camera.
…try to use the inspiration prompts from Katrina at Capture Your 365
DON’T
…worry if I don’t take a photo every day.
…worry if none of the pictures are technically perfect, they still tell a story.
…worry if I never use any of the inspiration prompts.
I’ve included a few of my favorites from the past 3 months, but you can see the rest of my story here: Daily Photo Project (a gallery on my blog) or here: 2012 Daily Photos (all of my daily photos on Flickr).
And now, I will send you on your way to the rest of the blog hop! Thanks for stopping by, I’d love to hear from you!

I laughed out loud with your comment about working on photos instead of taxes! It sounds like our house yesterday. I read your comment to my husband and he responded, “I like her!” :0)
Like you, I don’t get too uptight about having my photos be too technically perfect. This is Year 2 for me and I remember being not happy with many of my photos last year but I decided I had to let it go if I wanted to participate fully in the project. I made a book of my photos for 2011 and in looking back at them, I truly can’t remember which ones I was unhappy with.
You are such a wonderful addition to the CY365 community.
This is my second year doing P365 and I’m a lot less critical of my photos this time around. I’m having more fun with it this time, especially when I’m trying to follow Katrina’s prompts. It really is all about documenting your life and as we all know, our lives are not always perfect.
I enjoy your photos in the gallery. It’s nice to find another quilter on CY365. So many of my photos this year involve some sort of quilting project. I’m going to peek around your blog now to see what quilty stuff I can find here. have a great day!
Oops! Can’t spell my own name right this am. LOL.
I always love seeing your pictures in the gallery! They often make me smile. I can so relate to the ‘tude you get from the boys. LOL I need a more cooperative subject – like Miles!! 🙂 As far as being jealous of the beach pictures – know there are those of us looking at your shots and being jealous of all that beautiful space and land!! (I can literally shake my neighbor’s hand out my kitchen window if we are both doing dishes at the same time!! I’m not complaining – I do love my home … just saying there are pros and cons to everything!!)
Thanks so much for sharing!
I so enjoy seeing your twins! Also, I like the one that shows the land around your home as it looks so much like parts of the country I’m in. I’m really curious about where you live…
I think we may be Project 365 twins. We think exactly alike! Also, I am SO with you on those beach shots. As much as I enjoyed our crazy-mild winter this year, it was TERRIBLE for photography. Leaf-less trees, green-less grass, plant-less gardens…. NO SNOW! Blech. Or rather, beach. lol You’re doing a great job! I like seeing your pictures on Flickr. 🙂
i love the first portrait and the second with all that blue sky, i am in love with lots of sky. 🙂 (and how cute is your dog in the next post?!)
LOVE having you in the CY365 community. You bring such a great perspective and I always feel like I’m getting a little preview of what is to come with the boy in my house!
LOVE your rules. It’s so important to have those straight to be successful with this project! Congrats on almost 100 days!
