What?!?!? You thought this blog was about QUILTING?
We have gotten FOUR and ONE HALF inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
Needless to say, Wolf Creek is out again. These pictures are all taken from right outside my back door, looking west. I shouldn’t be able to see ANY water, let alone all of this:
And the mud. Look at how muddy that field is. Yuck.
It’s hard to see at this size, but just about smack dab in the middle of this last picture is the tops of the fence that separates the pasture from the field. Pasture, field: not supposed to be lake bed.
At least it isn’t snow.

Looks like it could be a great time for 2 boys though!

Goodness!
Actually, I shouldn’t be surprised. My folks used to live near a tributary of the Sabine, and it would overflow its banks into cow pastures each year and look just like that. It really is amazing how much difference four inches of water makes, though.

I grew up in the bayou country near the Louisiana border and the bayous would swell over their banks like that, regularly. It is really incredible to see the difference. I wouldn’t let the kids near there – those currents can be swift. Also, all kinds of critters get washed out that usually stay out of sight.
