Mark came home early and spent several hours chipping ice out of our gutters so that the water could run through the gutter, rather than down behind the siding and inside the house. I think the water has stopped coming in the basement, not the least because the rain has turned into snow.
Great big globby blogs of heavy wet snow.
For reference, the base of the rose bush in the front of the picture is nearly down to the bare ground, just a little bit of snow covering the ground there. The drift behind it comes up nearly to the doorknob of the shed. I thought about brightening the picture up, but that grey look is really what it feels like.
I’d like to hop on that plane to Australia, but I just realized I can’t: no passports. I’ll have to remedy that.

I thought about you last night when our weather prediction was for 6 plus inches of snow today. Thought you might be getting it first. Fortunately mid Michigan is now above the storm line so we may only get 2-4 inches.
It is okay to whine about the weather! I’m ready to smell that spring rain like air I did one day in Hoboken.
I’m worried. I’m afraid you are going crazy up there!
I feel your pain…well not really, but I understand you are in pain. Weather can be a real bitch! Anyway, I had 2 adult beverages tonight…1 for me and 1 for you! I know that probably doesn’t make you feel any better, but I tried!
I’m from Ohio……snow doesn’t impress me……but I love to look at it.
I don’t suppose you want to hear that it was 70 here today with almost no wind???
I’m so sorry that you’re still having such weather! Dadgummit anyway! I thawed out chicken today, and now I’ll have to go to the store to see if I can find Western dressing. Now, I wonder if those fabrics I had set aside for a bargello would look good in a blooming 9 patch? You see how influencial you are? Dang it!
Sorry about the weather Suzanne. It would be nice if at least you saw sunshine. That would make all the difference. Hang in there!
Hm, well, while you’re waiting 6 weeks (or however long it takes nowadays) for your passport, you can go to Florida!:) Oh, please take me/us with you…!
