I guess this is pretty self-indulgent, but hey — that’s what this whole entire blog is, right?
I’m not doing anything I don’t want to do today. I may sew, I may not. I do have to make part of our lunch (the potatoes), but I think Mark is going to cover everything else. And I think he said I have to pop the popcorn for tonight’s popcorn night. Beyond that, though: I’m taking the day off. What a relief!
I spent yesterday in Wisconsin helping a friend/customer with her quilting machine. Thankfully it went well — as much as I like her, I didn’t want to have to end up spending my birthday with her…
On the way home, I stopped at a quilt shop. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me, but I couldn’t find a single thing in the entire shop that I needed to buy.
And then I stopped at Kohl’s and looked at purses and wallets, but again, couldn’t find anything I liked. Good thing, too, as I got a surprise today, but I’m not saying anymore until….well, you’ll just have to wait, OK?
I guess that’s all for now. I’m sorry about yet another picture-less post — maybe I’ll blog again later and do it with pictures….
TTFN-
Suzanne
p.s. I got a couple of birthday cards yesterday. The one from my sister-in-law made me laugh. On the outside it says “Happy Birthday Sister-in-law! Despite our great relationship, you and I share a minor problem….” And on the inside it says “But don’t worry — we’ve put up with him for this long, so I uess we can tolerate him for the duration.”
Poor Mark. She disses him with cruel birthday cards on *his* birthday, and now she has started to diss him on MY birthday, too!
p.p.s. In case you are wondering, I’m 35 today. I guess this means that after today I’m officially closer to 40 than I am to 30. Weird. It doesn’t bother me, but it is definitely weird….

Happy Birthday, Suzanne! 35’s not so bad…my favorite part about being in my 30’s is that my confidence is better than it was in my 20s. I have some friends who say that 40+ is even better.
Have a great day!

Happy birthday!!! 🙂 Hehehe – I felt similar when I turned 25. I’m now 26, but closer to 30 than 20. I remember when 30 was sooo old. Now it ain’t lookin’ so bad. Lol* To me that is. I suppose to all my 20 year old friends I AM sooo old! 🙂

Happy Birthday!! I know what you mean on getting close to that 40 mark. I tease my sister (she turned 40 this month) all the time. She is 6 years older than me.
Can’t wait to see what your surprise was….

I am glad you are having a day for yourself. After helping me yesterday it is well sdeserved. All is going well today even with icky permacore thread. It was the only one that was the correct color. Well I am off to load #3 for today. Now that the machine is fixed DH is being a slave driver! I wish there was a wink icon on this site!

Happy Birthday Suzanne! I’ll be 35 next year and like you it really doesn’t bother me in the least 🙂
I also wanted to tell you that I did the Feather & Curl meander on a quilt last night for a customer and I love how it turned out. I can see myself using that one alot 🙂

Happy birthday — hope you enjoyed your day “off” and the goodies you are going to post soon :0).
You’re right, 35 is just weird. I hit mine this last January and it doesn’t bother me, it’s just strange. Oh, and be warned, look before you fill out anything that requires you give an age range (you know, surveys, etc.) you’ve changed demographics. Just weird.

Getting closer to 40 may not bother you, but think how it makes me feel! I’m mom and live in the same town with Suzanne and didn’t get a card or present to her. How bad is that? I’ll make up for it.
love you SuzyQ
