Week 13

The adults were having a family farm annual meeting, so the cousins were messing around. I think that they were watching Ren & Stimpy cartoons on the iPod, and Will's pose was a "Argh, Mom's taking our picture again" kind of a pose...

It's fun to travel, but it's also nice to go home.

For Lego week, I went digging for minifigures, and was a little creeped out when I found the remnants of the Lego People Store that Joe had made once upon a time. I played with post-processing on this one to try to emphasize the creepiness, by adding grain, converting to black and white (partially because the colors in the background were really distracting), and adding a bit of vignetting -- darkening the edges.

I really should play with Lego Minifigs more as models because they are a lot more cooperative than my humans. The first day of spring was spectacular: almost like summer, even. We decided to go outdoors and explore.

First day of track practice. I can't remember exactly how the sizes worked out, but their new shoes are huge.

It was report card day at school. That meant a really long, really busy day. It was one of those days taht at the end I could look at what I had done, and knew that I had accomplished something. I was glad to see the end of it, though. And to come home and just take a picture of the sunset. I had earned that sunset.

The junior high band participated in a Band Jamboree in South Tama today. This was the 7th grade band, the boys are just to the right of center, in red shirts, Will's on the Tenor Sax, Joe is next to him playing a Bass Clarinet. The concert was…OK….the facility was not great (last year it was at the high school, which was MUCH nicer). But I think it's a good experience for them.
