We Wish You A Merry Christmas

I hope that those of you that celebrate Christmas have had a very special day.  We planned for a lazy day, and we got it.  After we ate dinner (lunch for those of you that don't live in these parts...) I told the boys it was time for the Traditional Christmas Nap. They thought I was ... VIEW POST

This Christmas

Yesterday's Concert At the beginning of the Holiday Concert, the Principal asked everyone that was in the audience that might have been in a Holiday Concert in a past year to raise their hand...I'm terrible at estimating percentages, but a whole heaping helping of that crowd had their hands in the ... New Christmas Music

Oh yum.  I am so in love. Do you remember seeing this video last Christmas? Did you know that based on that video, (which was filmed back in 1998), the group Straight No Chaser was offered a recording contract, they have reunited and have released a Christmas album?? How stinking cool is ... VIEW POST

More boxes = much better

I need to try to take a better picture later when the light is different, so you don't just see the reflections in the glass. I bought 2 more sets of boxes and it is so stinking cute.  It's like I planned it this way, but really, I wasn't thinking about the boxes matching the quilt when I bought ... VIEW POST

A little BAH and a lot of HUMBUG

Yes, my friends, it's that time of year.  Time to skip right past Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas. Shopping at Hobby Lobby last night, I bought some deco junk and then raided the home stash to try to get something done before our town's Holiday Happening's festivities kick off this ... VIEW POST

Mother’s Day

I hope everyone is having a nice day.  I had the pleasure of having my husband (with a tiny bit of help from the boys) cook and clean up our entire noon meal.  We call it dinner,  you probably call it lunch. I tried to help clear the table, but Mark grabbed the salt and pepper shakers out of my ... VIEW POST

Instagram post 2195281820554277242_15732201 White on white. I did some journaling with a clear Glaze pen on the predecorated page. The words are modeling paste through a stencil. My intention was to do some more layering after it was dry, but I kinda like it like this, so I’m going to leave it for now! #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal #thelayeredpage #suzannegetsmessy #getmessyartjournal
Instagram post 2195188434409354745_15732201 On my walk, I picked up some things to use for mark making. I liked the line quality of the big fat stock the best. The cornstalk worked pretty well to spread some gesso around. The ok scone wasn’t super successful, it’s too closed up for defined marks, I think. Words are from a Jane Davenport sticker set. #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal #suzannegetmessy #getmessyartjournal #thelayeredpage
Instagram post 2195138742887561650_15732201 Katie and I bundled up and took a walk around the yard the other day, at @kasiaavery’s instruction. Well, I bundled. Chilly, but pretty out and I kept moving. Swipe for the photo I snapped of her and my house in the afternoon light. #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal #thelayeredpage #suzannegetsmessy #getmessyartjournal
Instagram post 2194629814697133317_15732201 “If you can’t be a good example you’ll have to serve as a horrible warning.” I am working on a top secret quilting project and everything that could go wrong with a portion of it...did. Including fusible web stuck to my iron. 🙄 I finally stopped being a moron, though, and have moved on to the next stage of the process. #carvedecember #carvedecember2019 #thepainteddiaries #suzanne_365
Instagram post 2193757339083959309_15732201 342/365 I can only dream. I have saved a ton of ideas that I’ve seen for #carvedecember. This is inspired by @artistrutharmitage. Super easy carve, but I think I will get a ton of use out of this for texture in layering!! (The theme for #thePaintedDiaries is “found words” — don’t worry, though. I can do more than just dream, I can do the work to make dreams come true going to just dream...) #suzanne_365 #yaylevelup #getmessyartjournal #suzannegetsmessy
Instagram post 2193728802121713135_15732201 341/365 How we holiday. {for the last few years we have been taking the family in a ski trip, rather than buying a bunch of gifts. We haven’t put up a tree since Hobbes joined our family. I miss it, but...I also don’t miss it?} How do you holiday? #carvedecember #thepainteddiaries #suzanne_365
