Do you think they noticed?

I have been sneezing all day long.  Since I’m pretty sure there isn’t any rogue ragweed around, I think that means that I’ve caught the crud and by tomorrow morning I’ll be on my deathbed.

At least I’ll have cute socks on.

These are my Absinthe socks, I’ve shown them before, but I just got a brand-new pair of Mary Janes last night.

My sister is probably cringing in horror at my fashion sense, but I think I’m cute, and that’s all that matters.

I totally wore this combo to church today.  Black pants, black Mary Janes and LIME GREEN socks.  I was wearing a black shirt, too.

I was showing my socks off to a friend, who is also a knitter, but she’s a more practical knitter.  She doesn’t understand making socks.  She actually said “Those are great, but why would you go to all that work for a pair of socks?”  I think her implication is that no one really notices your socks.

HELLO???  I’m wearing black pants, black Mary Janes and LIME GREEN socks.  I’m pretty sure people noticed.

Maybe they’ll remember me for my keen fashion sense, what with the lime green socks and all, when I’m gone.  You know, since I’m probably catching the plague and going to die soon.

CUTE! And I think that makes PERFECT fashion sense. Judy L. at Patchwork Times sais any kind of hand-knit socks goes with anything you want to wear… I like her thought, since many times the “coordinating” pair may be in the wash. I have lots of people ask me, “Why don’t you just go to Wal-Mart and BUY your socks?” They don’t have a clue about how comfy hand-knit socks are. That’s ok… I don’t want them asking me to knit socks for THEM. The few people that have asked (sometimes total strangers) I just tell, “You can’t afford me… (and I explain about the cost of sock yarn and how it takes me a month of my spare time to knit a pair) Go to Wal-Mart!”

Handmade socks are the best! (except for one pair that fall down my legs… grrr) I hope you’re feeling better soon — would hate to see you die of a simple case of the crud!

I think you’re hysterically funny. Honestly. And, I too am a wearer of colorful sox. Church, work, wherever.
Hope your cold isn’t too bad. You know what “they” say. It takes 3 weeks or 21 days to get over a cold, whichever is sooner.

LOVE the socks. I think I need to learn to knit socks. I have always admired what you have done. I can knit but am a real beginner. Is there a basic sock pattern that you could recommend? And tell me about what kind of yarn? I just know so little!

What I want to know is what ELSE did you wear besides the black slacks, Mary Janes, and Lime Green Socks? Especially if people noticed!!! I like the lime green socks. And maybe a lime green jacket or blouse would make the perfect outfit. 😉
