Well, here we are, a week in to the new year. How are your goals and resolutions and plans coming along? I had intended to write another post here sooner, but life happened. The main thing is that I’m doing it NOW, rather than 6 months from now saying, so…about that website you were going to write on more frequently…
I’ve been working away on my projects and getting used to working all day again. It was nice to have just a 2 day work week before the weekend came back around. Although, I proceeded to spend one of those days completely tearing my desk and surrounding piles apart and swapping for a new desk. The new desk is in, but is completely empty and I still have all of my stuff to organize — but you can’t organize clutter, right? So before I put it away, I need to sort it and edit it. If I don’t love it, it needs to go away. Wish me luck.
As a way of avoiding that, I thought I’d post the round up I meant to post yesterday of my first week of a daily drawing/painting project.
The theme for January is Blind Contour Drawings. Which are absolutely hilarious.
I started with a self-portrait.
Day 2 was a warm up for a painting project I was working on.
Day 2 was the cat. I used two different photos for reference. Clearly, I didn’t do him justice.
Day 4 was this adorable stuffed monkey. He has magnets in his hands. Sometimes he rides around on my quilting machine.
My red converse was the subject of day 5. I forgot the pen I used for the smaller version wasn’t waterproof, so it bled when I added paint.
And Sunday, day 6 was scissors. I love the addition of paint to these!
Even though I’d done day 7, I’m going to leave this update with those 6, partly because it’s too dark to take a decent picture, but also because I’m planning on doing these updates on Sunday in the future.

Good luck with doing a project every day. Keeping it up can be difficult and life does intervene as we all know.
