Well, I totally meant to do this update on Sundays, but I only managed that once and it’s already the end of the month, practically!
I’m continuing with my daily art practice, this month is all about blind contour drawings. (You can see all of the posts about the daily artwork here, though as of this writing it’s just this and the 1st week).
I’ve been experimenting with adding color and have also played with the kind of pen I use — the most recent days have been a brush pen, giving some variation to the line quality. The drawings are inherently wonky and imperfect and it’s very good practice for drawing what you SEE, not what you think it should look like.
I don’t have a plan of what I’m going to draw for these, just whatever catches my eye for the day. The little toys I’ve collected have been particularly good subjects.
Here’s week 2:
Here’s week 3:
And week 4:
Just a few more days of January, which is absolutely shocking. I have really enjoyed these daily drawings, but I think I’m glad it’ll be time for a new theme come February 1st. I don’t know what that is yet, but Riet has been hinting that it’s going to include color.
