2012 Reading Challenge
completed her goal of reading 100 books in 2012!
In 2011, 100 books was pretty easy, I think I managed about 105 by the time the year was over. As of just a few days ago, I’m at 101 for 2012, and I’m going to guess I’ll get another 10 or so in before the end of the year.
I can hear some of you thinking “But when does she have time to read so much?” — what you have to understand is that when I’m not at work, I’m most likely curled up at home with a book. Or…reading in the car as Mark drives us to Waterloo to get groceries on the Saturday after Black Friday. Or…wide awake at midnight reading, when I should really be asleep.
I read the backs of cereal boxes if I don’t have a book at the breakfast table, and if it weren’t incredibly rude, I’d probably read at the supper table some nights.
Also, I try to avoid cleaning as much as possible. And, it probably goes without saying: I read with speed. This is not necessarily always a good thing, and I find that there are some books that I enjoy more when I get them from Audible and listen to them.
I use GoodReads to keep track of all of my books (you can be my friend there, if you want: Suzanne at GoodReads), and starting tomorrow, assuming I can get the formatting to work**, I’m going to start posting book reviews and other bookish things here. Not so much because I think the world needs another book review site, but more because I have been thinking that I would like to take a little more time thinking about the books I’ve read, about why I like them (or don’t…), and putting those in to words. And if I’m going to go to that work, I’m darn well going to share.
I’d stay up and continue to work on the website, but a book is calling me. Um. I mean bed. Bed is calling…but the book*** might be a little louder…
TTFN,
Suzanne
**If you are reading this via the RSS feed you won’t notice that I’ve been playing with the display options of the site today. Unfortunately, it’s misbehaving, so to those of you read on the site itself, I’m sorry. I’ll try to fix it tomorrow.

I love to read – I tried your favorite author by downloading a sample ebook. I was lost in trying to keep all the strange names streight. I noticed she has written scads of books. Is there a place to start to better understand?
