(Joe doing homework, Mark…reading a book?, Will waiting for Joe to finish his homework…)
I made the mistake of staying up last night to watch the results of the election as they filtered in. I did NOT turn on the TV, I chose to just refresh web pages, it was pretty fascinating to watch the maps change colors as results were tabulated. I ended up staying up all the way through the President’s speech — after watching Mitt Romney, I sort of felt like I was committed and had to see it through all the way to the end. Of course, by the time Obama spoke, I was so sleepy, I could barely focus on what he was saying.
None of the boys stayed up with me because (a) it was boring and (b) it was a school night and (c) it’s also basketball season, which means they have to be at school by 6:30am for practice. Yikes. Unfortunately, they are all just loud enough in the morning, that it wakes me up, too, and even thought I want to keep sleeping, the brain has started and won’t quiet back down.
And after being up late last night, I really didn’t want to get up. I’m sure I wasn’t the only person in the US that was dragging butt today.
Despite the dragginess, it was nice to wake up to such a beautiful morning:
I wish I could packaget this up and send it to the East Coast. My sister and her family got power back after a week and now I guess there is a snow storm? Yikes.
I would write more tonight, but it’s 9:07pm and I’m falling asleep at my keyboard. Also, we have confirmed cases of Influenza A at school, so I’m going to go crawl in bed and pretend like my throat isn’t actually sore and I’m not coughing and my head doesn’t hurt. I thought I was coming down with something a few days ago, but I scared it away. I hope to do the same now with some sleep.
Good night, stay warm, dry, safe, and make good choices.
