So I was at Christopher & Banks Saturday night (I had $20 in coupons that expired the next day), and I found this totally adorable black knit jacket. The picture on the website is terrible, trust me, the jacket is really cute. I will wear it A LOT.
As I was checking out, making chitchat, I said something about how since it was black I could wear it with nearly any color, and the clerk said “Yeah, and I’ve even heard that ‘they’ are now saying that you can wear dark brown with black.” We both kind of wrinkled our noses at that, because…really? Black and brown together?
And then I said “Well, it doesn’t really matter to me because I never wear brown.”
And then I remembered that I just bought a pair of brown pants and a new top (it’s mostly purple and green, with brown thrown in), so I amended that to “Well, I guess I have a few things, but mostly, I rarely wear brown.”
She gave me a strange look, but I didn’t think too much of it, and went on my merry way.
About two hours later, it suddenly dawned on me.
I was wearing my M&M hoodie.
Guess what color it is.

the website definitely doesn’t do justice to that jacket. Doesn’t show the ruffles at all. I guess you’d call them ruffles.

I had the same sort of thing happen to me. I was at a quilt shop in Lancaster and found some hot lime green yardage on sale. My daughter turns flips for this color and I knew she’d love me to pick some up for her stash. I took it up to get some cut and as the lady is dolling it out I said, “My daughter is going to love this fabric. She is a big fan of hot lime green.”
The lady looked right at me and said, “You do too.”
I look down and I had on a lime green fleece jacket and a lime green t-shirt.
I said, “Well, I suppose you must be right!” I had no idea I liked that color so much and her I was blaming it on my daughter all along!
