I believe lots of chores build character! I’ll never forget the time I was visiting Mom and she made a comment that my boys weren’t around to pick up after me. (All I did was set an empty glass on the table!)
Suzanne, you’re a smart cookie! My mother always made us do chores….of course, in my childhood, I WAS the dishwasher. I usually washed and my brother dried and put them up. My kids also had to help with the chores from the time they were pretty young. One of my friends who was having trouble getting her teenage daughters to do anything around the house asked me what my secret was with my kids. I told her I started it when they were young.
I got the boys to unload the dishes for a very long time. Now I’m back to doing them. Durned kids grow up! For the record, I was quite surprised at how grown up he looks in this picture. Look at it with fresh eyes, and you’ll see what I see. How time flies! Because I’ve met your boys and spent a little time with them, I really look at this picture with a tender heart. I love it.
