Quickie survey about website shopping

If a website is out of stock of a product (but has it on order and will be stocking it again in the future), do you want to even see the product with a note that it is out of stock or would you rather not see the product at all on the website?

Details, details, details…..

If it isn’t in stock and I can’t get it right now, I don’t want to see it on the website.

I would rather not see it. I’m one of those ‘I see it, I want it’, not ‘I see it, but I can’t have it’ type girls. It just makes me pout!

Yes would be my answer, but like you said, only if you were expecting more of that particular item. Otherwise it’s just plain frustrating! Especially when searching for OOP fabrics online – who cares what they used to have?! Just my opinion as a veteran online shopper. 😉

I don’t mind seeing it if it has a restock date.

Yep. I wanna see it. There are companies that I want to do business with and will wait to order if I know when it will be in………..

As long as it is on order and will be stocked again, YES. When I place an order and one item is backordered, I’m still only paying shipping once. The company always tells me when it will be in, keeps me updated and I like that. I don’t want to have to shop around and pay shipping to multiple places when I can get everything I want/need from one source.

I am on the “yes” wagon … i want to see it if I know it is coming back in. I have seen sites where it states under the pic “OOP” – that does not make me happy.

I’d like to see it and know that it is out of stock.

    Hugs,

I’d rather see that it’s out of stock and a note that it is on order. Estimated restock date would be even better. Then I can determine if I can wait or need to look elsewhere.

What would you do about ordering it? Would it be backordered and then automatically sent when it arrives? Or noted as out of stock on my invoice and NOT sent when it came in? I have done business with companies that have both policies. It’s important to have that policy listed clearly.

Can’t wait to visit your online store!!

Yes, I’d like to see it along with a date it’s expected in. I’d think it would be a pain to remove things that are out of stock and then have to add them back in.

I would want to see it also – as others said – as long as it will be back in stock at some point. Good luck with your opening – I have been reading your blog and can feel the excitement! Enjoy the process!

I would like to see it and when more are expected. That’s been my biggest gripe with ordering online lately. No communication!!! I place an order, get their confirmation and wait. After two weeks I’m emailing them, where is my order? Then they’re like oh one item is on backorder. OK, but let me know that!!!

If you are getting it back in stock, it is nice to know that it is backordered and coming soon. Otherwise you might miss out on the sale altogether!

I’d like to see it with an expected delivery date.
