Winter weather

dsc03574.jpg

As you may have heard, the Midwestern US is in the throes of some winter weather.  Yuck.  So far we are getting sleet and our east windows are already coated with ice.  The timing couldn’t be worse — this weekend is Holiday Happenings — our little town’s Christmas-kickoff-festival.  Merchants and service organizations are hoping for good turnouts to raise/make lots of money.  I suspect that attendance will be quite low.  We are supposed to venture down there after awhile so the boys can play some Christmas songs at the library (there is a book sale going on in the basement, the little kids provide the background music).

If you are also being affected by the winter weather, I hope you are staying warm and safe!  I might have to go turn on the Christmas tunes and grab a mug of hot chocolate.

More later —

Ours is bad too……….pouring rain all day!! But since it’s the beginning of December, and we have only had 1″ so far this year, it’s a welcome site.

We’re getting snow – Yea! Of course I don’t have to drive in it which helps. We’re going to go out and play later this afternoon after I quilt for while.

Love the postcard – it gives me an idea for one with books for my journal project.

Yucky weather! It’s a balmy 8o degrees here, so if you need a break…come on down. Hope your sniffles go away soon!

Yes, we are getting hit too. The side of our house is pure slick ice. I sat at home today and made choc chip cookies and chili!

I hope you are feeling a bit better today. I hate having a cold! Our temperatures have dropped considerably over the past couple of days, but no rain. It all went to Southern California. 🙁 Love your little postcard! It suits you to a tee!

Oh yeah — all that ice and snow was fun. NOT. We were lucky enough to NOT have to go out in it but, well, our power cut out for about 4 hours Saturday night thanks to the ice. I need more candles, that killed an evening in my sewing schedule!
