On Thursday, the boys were scheduled to go over to a friend’s house after school. As luck would have it, school was dismissed an hour early due to snow, so the boys got to spend an extra hour!
I should back up, it wasn’t actually their friend’s house — it was his Grandma’s house. Their buddy goes there after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They got to go sledding and eat popcorn and s’mores and drink hot chocolate and just generally have a fabulous time. The friend’s mom boys home.
Saturday night when we were at the movie, their friend’s Mom says that she has to tell me a story.
It turns out that they had been eating homemade cookies and had asked if they could each bring one home with them. When they got out to the car, they discovered that they had forgotten them.
The mom wanted to get home, and instead of letting them go back in she said “I’ll bet you could get some cookies from your Mom.”
One of my little darlings said:
“Our mom doesn’t make cookies as good as these.”
Hmph.
In completely unrelated news: I got a postcard today from AnnMarie from our Black, White and 1 color challenge. Isn’t it great? I love the beads.
I completely forgot to scan and show of the one from Michelle that arrived a few days ago. Unfortunately, it did not scan very well. It is NOT orange, the background is a very pretty dark red. I should try taking a picture of it in order to get a more accurate representation of the color.
Last, but most definitely not least: I just got a phone call from my brother. He was calling to tell me that he and his wife and mad at me for not updating their photo in Christmas Journal page from a few days ago. (His wife sent me some new photos right away after seeing the ones I had made do with).
Just kidding. He was really calling to tell me that he and his family are coming for a visit next week!!!!!!! Remember my visions of a perfect Christmas? Well, I’m getting closer….because I’m also going to get to see my sister and her family the following week……….one of these years we’ll figure out how to get us all in the same place at the same time.
