A Momentous Post

It was purely by chance this morning that I noticed:  this will be my 250th blog post.  This is a big deal for me, considering I’ve never been able to make a go of paper journaling.  I think maybe it has something to do with the feedback that I get from readers.

Since I haven’t managed to make note of other momentous occasions (such as the 100th post, or my 10,000th visitor) I thought this might be a fun time to have a quick blog party.  Especially since we are all in a festive mood after yesterday’s Christmas post.

Well, I am anyway.

In order to participate in my 250th post party, all you have to do is comment on this post.

Anyone who comments (on this post) before 12 noon central time on Friday, August 31, 2007 will be entered into a random drawing.

A drawing for what you ask?  Well, that will depend on who wins the draw, because I haven’t actually decided what it is I’ll be giving away.  Remember, I just now thought of this whole thing anyway.

It might be a stack of fat quarters, it might be a book, it might be a small handmade item of some sort — I don’t know yet!  The possibilities are endless!

So:  comment away.    Thanks for visiting and providing feedback — and patiently reading about all of my adventures and distractions.

Suzanne

Suzanne, I always enjoy reading your blogs. I keep thinking I should start one of my own, but I’m afraid I’d spend even more time on the computer rather than quilting.

I have been journaling (on paper) for years but have as yet found the nerve to go “public” in a blog. I applaud you for your bravery in sharing your wonderful thought processes and art.

Suzanne, congratulations on 250 posts — like you, I never thought I would be able to keep a blog for long. You are right the comments is what helps – it makes it seem like you are conversing rather than just telling people a story with no feedback an for personal reading.

Anyway, if I win, I would love to win an autographed copy of your book (not that I expect to win, just telling you what I would like to win and what would be an awesome prize for me, teehehe)

Sheesh!!! I go on vacation and I come back and I’ve missed a bazillion posts and a scad of quilts. Maybe if I got off my behind, I’d actually produce some quilts too!!!

Congratulations on your 250th post. I always love reading your blog. Other than the profuse amount of stuff you put out, your posts are always “real life”. I like the toothbrush on the garage floor idea!!!

This is definitely a milestone. I certainly can relate to what you are saying. I’ve tried many times to keep a paper journal – because I love the idea – and always fail within 3-4 days. I was afraid the same thing might happen to the blog – but it didn’t! And I know for sure it’s the comments from the readers that keep me going. Isn’t it marvelous to have made so many friends from all around the world!

I probably should be disqualified from the drawing – after all, I won your little quilt for naming the Peppermint Ice Cream quilt – I think that’s what you called it, right? But I wanted to leave you a congratulatory message anyway!

Congrats on 250! Like you I’m not a paper journal person, but blogging? Cool! I just celebrated my 50th — and loving this whole blogging thing!

    August 30, 2007 at 5:42 AM

I didn’t see any disclaimers about family not joining in on the fun. I’ll join the crowd in saying how much I enjoy reading your online journal. I still want help in starting my own blog, the one thing I’m worried about is how do you keep yourself from inadvertently saying something unpleasant about your mother or daughter or some other dear family member. Not there is anything unpleasant about our family…
love you, dear first child o’ mine
p.s. you don’t need to put my name in for a drawing. After all, free quilting services and all the other things you do for me are more than enough reward

Whoo hoo! That’s a momentous post all right!
You have a really good blog – I always love to read about what you’re up to. Your recent studio tidy was really inspiring (if I weren’t so dang far behind, I’d get into cleaning up, too!) and I love seeing your boys.

    Cheers!

Keep the stories coming, and no prize is needed for me, you and your family are my prize.

I found your blog after discovering your quilting in a magazine. Naturally I had to order both books immediately. I peeked at your blog and was hooked. While I have read a post or two of others blogs that has alway been the end of it. With yours, I find myself popping back every day or two for the next installment. I love your stories, pictures and writing.

Oh, poo. So I go away for a couple of days and a long weekend and find I missed the contest. Ah, shucks, I never win anything anyway.
