It’s been so quiet here on the blog…can you hear the crickets, too?
It’s been a long week since I last posted. My maternal grandfather passed away last Wednesday. We miss him, but he was so very sick at the end, that it’s really a relief that he is no longer in pain.
It has been a bittersweet week — even while we were grieving over our loss, we were enjoying a short family reunion. My sister and her family and my brother were able to come for the weekend. My sister was here this summer, but the last time I saw my brother was 4 years ago in January. We sure wish his family could have come, but it was short notice and a very long trip — he is stationed overseas and we were very lucky he could come so far.
Needless to say, nothing has happened here quilt-wise. Well, except for the very cute postcard that came in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately, I don’t seem to be able to upload pictures at the moment and don’t have any more time to futz around with it. I was going to share some cute photos of the cousins that were together this weekend, but that’ll have to wait until later, too.
So, if anybody was worried about me, now you know where I’ve been. Of course, it is Christmas time, and so "normal" doesn’t really exist around here for while yet, but I’ll try to get back into a semblance of a routine and get something done. Even if it is mindless sewing….but I might take a nap first (VBG…)
