March 25
Sunday was windy, but warm. It was supposed to be a day to get a lot of paperwork done, but Mark and Cocoa had an accident. We aren't entirely sure what happened, but the end result was that she found out what happens when you chase Daddy's truck…and it's not a good thing. She was limping, and clearly in a lot of pain, so we called the vet and ended up taking her to the office, where she got to check in for an overnight stay. She's going to be OK, nothing broken, no life-threatening internal injuries. Maybe she'll learn not to chase vehicles…The boys went out to the farm, and I took my book and chair out to the back porch to just chill out for awhile. I was a little wrung out. THe photo prompt was green, so i was going for the green of the grass, plus a lok at the first Lunadry Hanging of the year. Something nice and mundane after the earlier "excitement."

Lots of photos of Cocoa this week! I was actually trying to take a picture to document the burned Nature Preserve in the background, but all of the pictures of just the perserve were pretty ugly…cause…it just got burned! And the houses were in the picture. I managed to just catch the dog long enough to practice using the left focus point on her face. Plus, the background enough in focus to show detail for the storytelling purposes I wanted, but just enough blurry to keep the focus on the dog. (Who is much perkier, and definitely improving...

March 30
Mark took this one, with his cell phone. This dumb bird spent HOURS bumping up against a window on the farm house, trying to figure out how to get inside. And then he did it again the next day. I actually have another picture that Mark took for the "real" photo of the day, but I have decided to honor Will's request that I not post it anywhere on the Internet. He's mad at Mark for even taking it, he was doing something silly at the supper table and Mark surreptiously caught him with the cell phone camera….
