Updated: January 31, 2010: giveaway is now over, go here for the results.
What’s the occasion?
I’m celebrating 1000+ blog posts, and starting a clearance sale to reduce the inventory in my small retail shop. The online shop will be staying open, but the brick and mortar version will be closing this spring. For more information, you can visit this post.
The prizes:
- 1 (one) grand prize winner, drawn at random from all entries, will receive their choice of a 100 fat quarter collection (chosen by me) or a yarn collection (chosen in conjunction with the winner) valued at $125 (full retail value)
5 (five) additional random winners will receive a Baker’s Dozen fat quarter collection (that’s 13 fat quarters, chosen by me) or yarn of their choice that totals $15 retail.
How to enter:
- Two entries for commenting on this blog post. (edited to add: if, for some reason, you are unable to comment, send me an e-mail: suzanne at suzanneearley dot net, and I’ll throw you into the mix.)
- Two entries for posting about the giveaway and my sale on your blog (you need to send me a link via e-mail so I can verify). (There’s a sample link code at the bottom of the post and you can cut and paste!) (edited to add: Facebook posts or tweets on Twitter are valid ways to enter, too.)
- Two entries for every $5 spent in the Knots & Bolts online store (shipping included).
More Details:
Obviously, no purchase is necessary to enter. Entries will be accepted until midnight CST on January 30, 2010, winners will be selected by random drawing and announced some time on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Make sure I have a way to contact you!
The Sale:
All yarn and fabric at Knots & Bolts is 30% off. In about 3 weeks, I’ll be marking it down further, and you are welcome to wait for even lower prices, but once fabric and yarn is gone, it’s gone, no reorders. I’ll do my best to keep the online stock up to date, but if something sells out before I can update the site, I’ll credit you for the difference as soon as I can. Also, all sales are final, so make sure you really meant to order it. If you have any questions about colors or whether something goes with something else, I’m happy to take additional photos of fabric and yarn for you.
Please pass the word:
Please help me get the word out, tell your friends about the sale — the fabric is nearly all $3.50/yard, and I have lots that would be great for quilt backs or sashings or backgrounds!! Here’s some code you can copy and paste to your blog:

I am sad you are closing your b&m store, but with the high costs of retail I completely understand. It is sad in so many ways that small shops are being forced to close down, but you will still be available “on line” which is terrific.

Wow, I’m drooling over the 100 FQs!
Anyhow… my parents have a plumbing company and it’s partly at a shop, partly at home. My mom doesn’t enjoy commuting everyday to the shop (30+ minute drive, one way) so they have an office at home also. My parents store several of the equipment at the house until it’s needed for jobs, like the tractor, dump truck, hydroflusher, etc. 10 acres gives them plenty of spots to tuck away the gear.
Plus, I’m a homegal myself! Sure, it’s more disruptive at times, but you know you’re also there with your family.

Hi Suzanne! Obviously you already know the damage I did to your stock last night. I thought I’d ‘help out’ (which sounds so much better than ‘buying more fabric’) and pretty much lost my mind. Can’t wait till it all comes. Being a mom, wife, teacher, quilter and blogger seem to be plenty enough to do altho’, like you, I always like to know and experience my options. You’ll do great as always!
Christine Olson says
I’m sure this will be a great new path on your life’s journey. Best of luck and I’ve posted your link on my blog to help with your cause. (And, of course, join in on the big giveaway. 😉 )
I will have to see what is left of your inventory. Sounds like you might be cleaned out of some things already!
Happy quilting!
