The lost was found

If you read the comments from Monday’s post, you’ll know that my Mom did in fact have the book I was looking for.

Only, she didn’t have the patterns insert.

Turns out, I had that. But once I knew that I wasn’t really looking for a book, I was looking for a pattern, I actually knew right where to go in order to find it, so now I’m ready to rock and roll on that particular project.

Of course, I have plenty of other things I could or should be doing, so…

Moving on.

The weather is absolute crap. Still. Again. Forever.

We actually saw snowflakes on Tuesday, great big globby blobs of snow mixed in with the rain. Today is just rain, I think, but oh dear goddess, make it stop. I’m so tired of cold and wet and grey and……….

Moving on.

When you are around someone every day, you don’t always notice how much they are changing. Look at these guys. There are 4 years between the “now” and “then” photos:

Now and Then

This is the week 2 layout assignment from my latest class with Jessica Sprague.  Way cool.

Well, I’d better go pretend to accomplish something.  Like laundry.  Whoopee.

I was just looking at my son’s photo from the regional golf tournament last year, and couldn’t believe how much more “manly” he looks this year. BTW, we are regionals bound again…he made it in as an individual this year!

those boys are so dear. I got to spend some time with them this evening. We played hangman, we talked a little about the mouse family that we made up stories about when I would put them to bed when they were younger. Will drew the tree that the family lives in, I think a rocket launcher or some such thing was a part of the design. Tigger had to lay just so on Will’s pillow when he went to bed. We had to go to the basement for awhile earlier because it was stormy outside and loud storms are bothersome for both boys. We had a nice surprise though when one of them went upstairs to find a game for us — he announced that it was sunny outside — and there was a beautiful rainbow!!! Yep, the skies cleared for 15-20 minutes or so.

Is Will taller than Joe? Boy, I hope I got their names straight! 😛

Wow…I need to learn to scrapbook like this, maybe the 17 years of my eldest son’s pics would get done alot quicker! This is nice!

I promise to NOT do the obnoxious Califormia thing and brag about our 80 degree sunny weather.

    Cute scrapbook page!

Instagram post 2198318837210935461_15732201 The prompt was the free writing — I used an inktenae pencil to journal about a decision that we are trying to make, scribbled in layers and in different directions. And then I spritzed it’s with too much water, so I blotted with a paper towel. And TBH, this is exactly what the decision making process looks like. #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal #getmessyartjournal #suzannegetsmessy

Instagram post 2197690835112539827_15732201 This was an experiment. My eyes were closed and I slowly moved the pencil across the page while I was breathing following a pattern.(I used my other hand to feel where the edges of the page were so that I didn’t fall off, so to speak). It was interesting. I might try something like this again, but with some modifications. #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal
Instagram post 2197579931381171115_15732201 Snowflake! I found this silly sticker at Michaels (60% off) and it made me giggle, so I bought it. Wasn’t entirely sure what to do with it, but decided that just sticking it on the page and writing around it was enough! #kasiasadventcalendar #suzannesadventjournal

This is my reminder that a good artist never blames her tools, but it sure is nice having really great tools. (I got Pfeil palm set C, plus one extra) #carvedecember #thepainteddiaries#suzanne_365
