Heartbroken

I’ve not been posting, because I haven’t had the heart to do so.

My poor sweet puppy Maggie passed away last Friday morning.

I spent most of the weekend in a daze, at least in part because the vets could not explain why.  It didn’t make sense.  We do now have an answer, and there’s nothing they could have done, nor could they have known this would happen.  I still don’t have all of the details straight, but it was related to her thymus gland.

I will miss that funny little underbite and those bright shiny eyes.  She wasn’t here for very long, but she sure made a huge impact on us.  I’m trying to remind myself that at least the 2 months she had with us were about the happiest I think a little dog could have had.

And now, I must stop because I’ll start bawling again if I don’t think about something else.

Back soon,

Suzanne

Someone’s not feeling good

Maggie could use some get-well vibes.  I don’t want to go into the gory details, but she’s having some trouble with the incision from her surgery (that was 3 weeks ago…).  She’s currently checked into the doggy hospital so she can get some fluids and so they can keep an eye on the bleeding.

I could use some warm-weather vibes because that, my friends, is all fresh snow.  Our grass was completely uncovered before this latest snow started falling.  Gah.

week 4 class layout

My sister posted some pictures of her cuties on her blog, and I just had to grab one of them to do my class layout for my Photoshop class.

Aren’t they sweet?

Sheesh. 3 posts in one day!  I’d better stop before I hurt myself.  Or you guys.  LOL.

A picture of me!

I mentioned last week that I was getting my pictures taken.  I got to look at some proofs last night, and have a photo to share!

Molly Clubb, MoCo Creative Services is the photographer.

I’ve learned several things about myself:

1.  It’s hard to look at pictures of yourself and not be critical.

2.  You can’t tell so much in this one, but I am really pale.  I knew I was fair, but egads.  LOL

3.  Pictures of me smiling are nearly always better than ones of me trying to look serious.

I’ve shared the link to the proofs with several friends and family members, and am relying on them to help me decide which are the best.  I get to pick 10 and it’s going to be tough to do!

Surprise mail

I did not sign up for the latest round of postcard swapping at MQResource, becasue I couldn’t quite justify taking the time to make them.  Not that I’ve done that much productive, with the time I “saved” (ha!)…

Anyway, I was more than a little surprised to see some lovely things show up on in my mailbox today and last week!

Deb‘s card:

Jami’s card:

On the back, Jami writes about being a 4th of July baby.  She used to think the fireworks were for her — isn’t it funny what kids think?  My boys were born on the 1st of July, and as much as I was glad to give birth (and quit being pregnant…) I’ve always been the tiniest bit sad that they didn’t make it to the 4th.  I think that would have been a cool birthday, too.

Thanks, Deb and Jami.  You made my day.
