Well, I’m not sure we got as much snow as we were forecasted to get, but the wind was sure blowing, which means our driveway and lots of the rural roads around here are probably plugged up pretty well.

I got the center of my Strawberry Lemonade quilt put together. Those are 8 inch blocks. I’ve got some of the dark pink stripe and the strawberries on blue on order for borders and binding.

I really like the rail fence. So versatile, yet so simple. Scrappy or planned fabric choices, works in all sorts of strip sizes (and even numbers of strips).

I really like these Jelly Rolls, too. This is the first time I’ve actually used one. Well, two: the quilt above makes use of two entire jelly rolls, with no leftovers.

While writing this post, our power went out for awhile! Thanks heavens for our local utility company that got the power back on quickly. It was a little too early to go to bed…LOL…

That, my friends, is brand-new snow on my back step.

Today’s forecast? 100% chance of precipitation. Snow and freezing rain turning to snow, total accumulation expected? 5-7 inches. Blowing snow through the day.

I think I’ll go hibernate in my sewing room. I spent most of yesterday working on a Rail Fence quilt using this fabric:

This is just the yummiest stuff. Very bright and cheerful — the perfect antidote for the continued yuck going on outside.

And no, I do not want to hear about how warm it is where you live. Nor do I want to hear about your trip to Cabo San Lucas. You people know that that is just MEAN, don’t you? (Hmm. Where are those smilies when I need them? )
